I'm pursuing a life science degree because I've been in love with genetics since elementary school. I hope to go into crop engineering after college, though genetics education has also recently caught my interest, and thus I'm exploring that as an alternative route!

Description: I am currently an undergraduate student at ASU, majoring in Biological Sciences (Biomedical Sciences). My academic journey began with two years at a medical university in the Republic of Moldova, followed by a move to the United States. A break from my studies allowed me to rediscover my love for biology and STEM sciences. Genetics and molecular biology, in particular, captivate me, and I am dedicated to building a career in these exciting fields.

From a very young age, I knew that I always wanted to be a doctor. My journey started off by enlisting in the Air Force as a Radiology Technologist. I realized that I loved the clinical aspect. I loved interacting with the patients, learning from the radiologists, and helping in procedures with the surgeons. After 6 years of being active duty, I decided to go to school full time, spend more time with my family, and focus on preparing for medical school. My current interests are genetics and immunology which I’m very excited to see how far I can go within the field.

After earning my associate degree in English, I did not feel challenged or completely fulfilled. I have always loved science, but was hesitant about pursuing a STEM major. I can say it's been the best decision I've made. With my life science degree, I plan on applying to medical school. My current interests are pathology and immunology, but this could easily shift as I navigate further education.

I am a senior undergraduate student at Arizona State University who is passionate about biomedical sciences. I am currently working on a thesis on oropharyngeal carcinoma, and am applying to medical school with the goal of becoming a physician specializing in a surgical specialty, although I am considering pursuing a MD/PhD program which would enable me to pursue my passions for laboratory science as well as medicine. From a young age, I have been mesmerized by the natural sciences, especially genetics and molecular science!
